Thankful For You
by Jana Kennedy-Spicer on November 5th, 2015

“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers “ Ephesians 1:16
Of all the people in my life I have to be thankful for, I can honestly say my husband is at the very top!

The book of Ephesians is actually a letter written by the Apostle Paul {Paul’s letters are often referred to as a “Pauline Epistle”} to the Christians of Ephesus. He begins by telling them how blessed they are to have been chosen by God for the grace that was brought to them through Jesus Christ and ends the letter by telling them how they should live amongst one another as the body of the Church.

So how does that relate to my marriage and why did this verse make me think of my husband?

Well, after Paul tells the Ephesians how thankful he is for them and that he prays for them, he goes to tell them exactly what he prays for them. He prays that God will bless them with a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know Him; the tenderness of heart of love Him; the recognition of the greatness of His power.

These are pretty good things for someone to pray for on your behalf…so why wouldn’t I pray for God to bless my husband with these same things?
